UnEssay - Ralph Bakshi's Queer Characters

OCADu - Year 4 Semester 2 Project

This project was to take any form of media and analyze or portray the queer characters within them. This project had a lot of freedom in terms of what we could use and how we executed it.

I chose to look at the queer charaters depicted in Ralph Bakshi's Coonskin (1975) and Heavy Traffic (1973), and overall research if they were negative portrayals/depictions of queer people. As a fan of Bakshi's movies, it was interesting to look into his intentions for them and do research into Snowflake and the Godfather's sons.
